The Need

Resources to support CEOs and general managers in strategy formulation and organization design are relatively limited as the market for executive level books is small.  Furthermore, the materials that do exist are primarily in English and mostly held as proprietary by the major management consulting firms.  Those senior consultants who do work at executive levels offer glimpses of their approaches but the materials are protected by expensive royalty systems and are tightly controlled.  The approaches that are more or less in the public domain are mostly fragmentary, flavour-of-the-month approaches.  Many CEOs searching for solutions are faced with a confusion of expensive fragmentary approaches overwhelmed by their complexity and non-alignment of fragments to each other.

While some approaches like the quality movement demonstrate continuing validity, there are enough poorly understood contingent factors, that project success rates remain disappointingly low.

What is missing is a science-based, integrated systematic approach to designing and managing organizations, widely available at low cost to general managers throughout the Spanish-speaking world.

The Opportunity and Available Resources

Since 2004, the Global Organization Design Society has embarked on a mission to document world-wide experience in using an integrated approach to designing and managing organizations based on the concepts of Wilfred Brown and Elliott Jaques.

During 2009, the society worked to identify Spanish speaking resources, produce video interviews with senior practitioners and to plan public events including a world conference in Spanish that will be video recorded for later free access of the web.

The Proposed RO in Spanish Program

The objective of the RO in Spanish Program is to produce and post extensive Spanish language materials on an integrated science-based approach to designing and managing organizations - to be available free or at very low cost to managers throughout the Spanish-speaking world

The materials and resources will consist of:

  • Articles, books, theses and dissertations in Spanish
  • Video interviews of senior practitioners experienced in requisite organization - CEOs, general managers, consultants and academics.
  • Video recordings of professional development workshops in the field
  • Videos of presentations at the world conference on organization design
  • Web-based learning modules contributed by senior Spanish-speaking practitioners.
  • Web-supported mentoring of Spanish speaking managers by Spanish speaking practitioners -- at below market rates.

How Your Organization Can Benefit

Many large organizations spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to expose their senior executives to world class management systems.  Smaller organizations, not able to afford these fees often do without.

Now global organizations that have Spanish speaking regional offices or large and small organizations located in Spanish-speaking countries will now be able to access quality materials on organization design without the barriers of cost, time away, and travel.

Your organization can arrange for early privileged access to these materials.
