Lois Melbourne
President/CEO
Aquire

Lois Melbourne co-founded TimeVision, now known as Aquire, in 1994 as a software development and corporate training company. Instilled with sharp business senses and a true entrepreneurial spirit, Lois quickly recognized a growing trend in human resource management. With more than 1,900 customers and partners in 53 countries, Aquire has experienced a 2000 percent growth in the last five years with sales exceeding $4.8 million. The company has received numerous awards recognizing its growth, product quality and service record.

Lois takes a people first approach to corporate leadership. While she doesn't name any particular corporate leader as an inspiration, she feels the leaders that create work environments focusing on the people aspects of business are to be admired. Aquire's work environment is family-friendly and supportive of employees with flexible schedules and telecommuting needs. The goal is to keep employees happy and as a result customer satisfaction will follow.

Prior to founding Aquire, formerly TimeVision, Lois held the position of director of operations at a national systems integration company, provided technology training instruction to corporate America, and served as a media buyer, sales and marketing executive and film production specialist. In 1988, Lois moved to Dallas-Fort Worth to work for Tandy Corp.'s audiovisual department and also worked independently with local film crews as a production manager for commercials, corporate training videos, movies and other media projects.

Lois has authored articles for several publications, including Network magazine, President and CEO, Canadian HR Reporter and Human Resource Executive. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization, International Association for Human Resource Information Management and Society for Human Resource Management. Lois serves as the small business representative for both the International Business Advisory Council and Technology Business Advisory Council with the Dallas Chamber. She is also co-chair for the TechCEO Roundtable.
