Dr. Flynn Bucy is a senior organizational design consultant with effective strategies to align leaders, teams, and organizations for high-performance. Dr. Bucy brings a unique combination of executive experience, consulting expertise and educational background to deliver proven strategies to help an organization shift gears to the next level of performance.
Dr. Bucy is an accomplished senior consultant in the areas of personal and organizational change, global sustainable development, and futures studies. He has a unique combination of academic, business, and non-profit experience to integrate research and practice in pragmatic capacity-development programs for individuals, teams, and organizations.
During his doctoral studies at GWU, he was fortunate to work with Elliott Jaques on his dissertation and then for several more years as a colleague and friend. Jaques’ research and theory using “time” as a frame of reference has been a foundational way Bucy has helped to design requisite organizational structure and culture.
In 2023 Bucy published a new book, Temporal Intelligence (TQ) for Leadership and Organizational Development: Beyond EQ and IQ with co-author Rich Doherty, a top-tier executive coach and CEO of Leader Go First consulting firm. Temporal intelligence, or TQ, refers to a person's awareness of the multiple dimensions of time and capacity to use those insights in personal and professional practices.
This book is about discovering, refining, and leveraging temporal skills as a leadership asset. Temporal intelligence is more than simply managing your own time well. It is understanding that different time dimensions are essential assets that apply in a wide variety of organizational and leadership situations.
Bucy works with Doherty and Leaders Go First to provide Requisite Organizational Design services, including:
- Assessment of current organizational levels of reporting, key leadership role requirements, and strategic opportunity vision
- Assessment of key leader’s capacity for managing the complexity and time frames required for their role and responsibilities
- Alignment of organizational and leadership structures required to support the strategic opportunity-vision driving the organization.
