Initial electrical qualifications are augmented by an MBA and a PhD. The thesis is founded on organisational change management, OD and the theories of Elliott Jaques (Requisite Organisation) in the Australian mining industry - predominately Conzinc Riotinto Australia (CRA) and Comalco (now Rio Tinto and Rio Tinto Alcan). The study is based around the company stewardship of Sir Roderick Carnegie, the organisational theories of Elliott Jaques and the change management processes of Professor John Kotter. The dissertation examines competitiveness, leadership, organisation development, change management, OD, requisite organisation, five business unit and group executive structures, culture, time span of discretion, strategy, stratified systems theory, industrial relations, core business, career development, the union movement, employment and single status workforce models.

My research is organised around a number of broad themes encompassing my working journey and research interests/outcomes, arising from my PhD:

# Organisational change and OD/OB, business unit and C-suite work levels
# Global mining, energy, agriculture/water climate change and sustainability
# China as it moves to a middle class society - energy usage and organisation structures
# Researching a substantial trilogy around the life and times of Elliott Jaques and Requisite Organisation
