Just released: Requisite Organization Annotated Bibliography -- 6th Edition

by: Ken Craddock

The 6th edition of the Requisite Organization Annotated Bibliography is now available for download.  It is keyword searchable and is designed to increase the credibility of Requisite Organization.

As its author, Ken Craddock, put it,

"Consultants will no longer only have their words to go on.  Now they have the best research and professional citations behind them.  These can be called up to fit almost any client situation or doubt.  The Introduction essays should give them better and more convincing arguments.  Entrees in the main body were designed to provide research or readings or cases to strengthen the argument for requisite implementation.

Good luck."

Erecting a tent large enough for all interested in Requisite Work Levels

Pritzker Prize Winner - Shigeru Ban - Centre-PompidouPritzker Prize Winner - Shigeru Ban - Centre-Pompidou

The Global Organization Design Society is erecting an inclusive tent to support sharing of practice, dialogue and learning by all practitioners around the world who use work levels concepts in their organization.

Elliott Jaques' most recent books used the term Requisite Organization but his earlier works used other terms including Glacier Project and Stratified Systems Theory. Others using these concepts have coined names such as The Work Levels Approach, Accountability-based Management, etc. One global firm using many related concepts such as Career Path Appreciation and the Matrix of Working Relationships has a network of 300 or so consultants.

Now we have a web site and forum where all are welcome.

If you use any of the terms above or those below - and want to join birds of a feather, you are welcome in our tent.

Time-Span of Discretion, Complexity of Information Processing, Managerial Accountability Hierarchy, Career Crossroads, Personal Effectiveness Appraisal, Age-Wage Profiles (Maturity Curves), Cognitive Complexity, Depth Structure, Matrix of Working Relationships.

A global association of academics, managers, and consultants that focuses on spreading RO implementation practices and encouraging their use
Dr. Gerry Kraines, the firms principal, combines Harry Levinson's leadership frameworks with Elliott Jaques's Requisite Organization. He worked closely with Jaques over many years, has trained more managers in these methods than anyone else in the field, and has developed a comprehensive RO-based software for client firms.
Ron Capelle is unique in his multiple professional certifications, his implementation of RO concepts through well designed organization development methods, and his research documenting the effectiveness of his firm's interventions
Former RO-experienced CEO, Ron Harding, provides coaching to CEOs of start-ups and small and medium-size companies that are exploring their own use of RO concepts.  His role is limited, temporary and coordinated with the RO-based consultant working with the organization
Founded by Gillian Stamp, one of Jaques's colleagues at Brunel, the firm modified Jaques;s work-levels, developed the Career Path Appreciation method, and has grown to several hundred certified assessors in aligned consulting firms world-wide recently expanding to include organization design
Requisite Organization International Institute distributes Elliott Jaques's books, papers, and videos and provides RO-based training to client organizations
