Evidence of the political urgency of finding a reliable measure of "equal value" is followed by an analytical discussion of the so-called wage gap between women and men. Some suggestive indications from a very small study emulating Richardson are reported.

A research framework for testing Time-Span of Discretion against other methods of work measurement is described. A practical proposal for further research is outlined.
